THE GREAT BUSTER, the biographical documentary. celebrates the life and career of one of America’s most influential and celebrated filmmakers and comedians. Buster Keaton’s singular style and fertile output during the silent film era created his legacy as a true cinematic visionary. Filled with restored archival Keaton films from the Cohen Film Classics library, THE GREAT BUSTER is directed by cinema historian Peter Bogdanovich, whose writings and films on prominent directors such as John Ford and Orson Welles have become the standard by which many other studies are measured. The movie also includes interviews with prominent filmmakers and actors such as Mel Brooks, Quentin Tarantino, Werner Herzog, Dick van Dyke and Johnny Knoxville.
THE GREAT BUSTER was awarded “Best Documentary on Cinema” at the 2018 VENICE FILM FESTIVAL and was nominated for “Best Documentary” at the 2018 CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
