Cinema Capitol will present the comedy-drama MINARI beginning Friday, February 19. Some portions of the movie are in Korean and will include English subtitles.
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, MINARI follows a Korean family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. Their home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, the movie shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
The movie had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, winning both the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize and the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award. It was named one of the ten best films of 2020 by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review, and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
MINARI will play on select days from Friday, February 19 through Thursday, March 1. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 4:00 and 7:00, Sundays at 1:00 and 4:00, and Mondays at 7:00.
All patrons are required to wear masks for the duration of the movie, unless eating or drinking. Parties will be socially-distanced at least 6 feet apart.
