For the fourth consecutive year, Cinema Capitol will present THE MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL from Friday, September 27-Thursday, October 3.
Now in its 22nd edition, THE MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL is considered by its organizers to be the world’s first global film festival. Having received 1,250 entries from 70 countries, ten finalist short films of various genres were selected. These ten short films from France, Iran, Canada, Germany, Finland, the U.S., and the United Kingdom will be presented in over 350 cities across six continents. Short films in foreign languages will be subtitled in English.
At the conclusion of each screening, viewers of THE MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite films and actors. The winners will be announced by festival organizers on the Monday following the festival at ManhattanShort.com. Winners will also be shared on Cinema Capitol’s social media and posted throughout the Cinema.
Each finalist short film qualifies for the ACADEMY AWARDS’ “Short Subject” category, and several past MANHATTAN SHORT finalists have been nominated for an “Oscar.”
THE MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL runs approximately 145 minutes and is not rated. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for students and military, and $6.00 for Capitol Friends. Tickets are available at the door and in advance from the Capitol Theatre box office (315-337-6453) and online at www.romecapitol.com.
