SUMMARY:Cartoon Madness
DESCRIPTION:The Rome Capitol Theatre will host the 2023 edition of Cartoon Madness during school break week\, February 20-25\, during which a dozen color cartoons from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes/Merrie Melody series will be presented. The show will run every day at 3 pm and on Saturday\, February 25 at 3 and 7 pm. This year’s theme is “A Smattering of Sylvester\,” featuring the constantly befuddled feline in six cartoons (including his first)\, plus the nameless Sylvester prototype in an earlier cartoon. The remaining animated shorts on the bill will feature such beloved WB characters as Bugs Bunny\, Daffy Duck\, Porky Pig\, and Elmer Fudd. (The entire show is expected to run approx. 1 hour\, 45 minutes\, including a 15 minute intermission.)\nTickets are available at the door or in advance from the Capitol website at www.romecapitol.com. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.\nIn conjunction with the Cartoon Madness show the Capitol will be hosting a drive in cooperation with Finnland’s Fosters to procure cat supplies to benefit Rome’s homeless cat population. Donations may be left in the theater lobby (next to the display) anytime during the week of Cartoon Madness.
