THE SPRING SHOW DATE is Sunday, May 17 at 5:00pm

The Capitol arts complex is happy to offer the popular Rising Stars Program for Children and Teens! Rising Stars is a fun experience that teaches basic stage skills through games, individual coaching, and actual performances. The program focuses on developing the students’ own creativity, building self-confidence, improving reading comprehension and speaking ability, accepting responsibility, and teamwork.

Students will learn stage movement, character development, how to audition, and a whole lot more! Skills developed will better prepare students to compete for roles in school plays, the Capitol Theatre’s SummerStage, and other local stage productions, as well as interacting with confidence during pageants, in college, in job interviews, and in everyday dealings with teachers and peers.

All age levels will have the opportunity to learn age-appropriate technical arts (props, costumes, stage management), in addition to acting skills.

The program is designed for students grades 3 – 12.
