The Jesus Rolls is an American crime comedy film written by, directed by and starring John Turturro, acting as both a remake of the 1974 French film Going Places by Bertrand Blier, and a spin-off to the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski by the Coen brothers, from which Turturro reprises his role as Jesus Quintana
In ‘The Jesus Roll’ a trio of misfits explore their irreverent, sexually charged dynamic which evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past and future wreaks havoc for them and everyone around them time and again, even when they try to change their stripes and perform good deeds. When the trio crosses paths with, and make an enemy of a gun-toting hairdresser (Jon Hamm), their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society at large and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen.
