Get ready for a non stop evening of entertainment.
Join us for our “Upstairs at the Capitol,” Tuesday, September 17 at 8PM. Upstairs At the Capitol is a fast paced variety show that rapidly switches between different segments like the TV variety shows of the 60s and 70s.
SPECIAL GUESTS FOR THIS SHOW:
The Blues Brothers of Central New York, Comedians Cortland Cloos and Brendan McGurk and and an interview with noted UFO and ancient history investigator Mr. Black.
You will see a few songs from the house band, an interview with a special guest, then Lightning Round Trivia (with a $97.42 GRAND PRIZE!) and more- all presented seamlessly on the stage.
Steve Hampe hosts the show.
Years of entertaining live audiences that includes recent Capitol Theatre SummerStage work-last year’s production of Mary Poppins and Shrek The Musical, this year’s Capitol SummerStage production- make him the ideal person to keep the show moving
The Fabulous Mojos- The House Band
Every variety show needs a great band-and we’ve got the best- the six piece The Fabulous Mojos: CNY’s newest and funkiest band. This 6 piece group dishes out a musical feast of blues, jazz and soul with a dash of the spicy sound of New Orleans.
“The Fabulous Mojos” features John Hanzel (bass), Tim Quinn (drums), Nelson Rudiak (sax), Rod VonPackal (trumpet), Karl VonPackal (guitar) and Cathie Timian on (vocals). Our new 6 piece group will be dishing out a musical feast of blues, jazz, soul and everything else that’s good!
Lightning Round Trivia – This is TV Game Show Style Trivia. This isn’t your downtown bar’s trivia night, Lightning Round has no Teams! Just you on the stage armed with a buzzer and a sharp knowledge of trivial facts. It’s you against the two other contestants and in order to survive the round and move on to the finals you’ll need to answer fast!
Special Guests will be brought on stage for interviews and some fun conversation between bits!
Admission to the show is $10 and includes your first beer or soft drink. You must be 16 years of age and older to attend.
