On Tuesday, June 11, the Capitol Arts Complex will present an open house to showcase the restoration of the historic Capitol Theatre and renovations the other buildings in the complex, in conjunction with the organization’s capital campaign.
The hours of the open house will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and the public may attend at any time during those hours. Tours of the complex will be offered, and videos about the restoration/renovation efforts will be screened. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with Capitol staff members about the restoration/renovation and the capital campaign. Thus far the Capitol Arts Complex has raised $3.75 million of the $5.25 million required to complete the project through phase 2. The Complex is inviting the public to assist in funding the remaining portion of the project. The already completed first phase of the project included the creation of the two-screen Cinema Capitol, which now operates seven-days-per-week in an extensively renovated office building adjacent to the historic Capitol Theatre. The total number of public performances in the Capitol Arts Complex now exceeds 1,400 annually.
