Cinema Capitol will present the comedy THE MAN WHO
KILLED DON QUIXOTE from Friday, May 10-Thursday, May 16.
Director Terry Gilliam, known for his work as a part of the comedy group MONTY
PYTHON, desired to create a movie based upon Miguel de Cervantes’ classic novel
DON QUIXOTE since 1989. Released this year, the movie stars Adam Driver as a
cynical advertising director named Toby. He finds himself trapped in the outrageous
delusions of an old Spanish shoe-maker (Jonathan Pryce) who believes himself to be Don
Quixote. In the course of their comic and increasingly surreal adventures, Toby is forced
to confront the tragic repercussions of a film he made in his idealistic youth – a film that
changed the hopes and dreams of a small Spanish village forever.
ROGEREBERT.COM writes that THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE is
“Witty, goofy, and glorious,” while the LONDON EVENING STANDARD writes that
the movie is “A treat.”
THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE runs 132 minutes and is not rated.
