Cinema Capitol will present the comedy-drama ZEROVILLE from Friday, September 27-Thursday, October 3.
ZEROVILLE was based upon the 2007 novel of the same title by Steve Erickson and was directed by James Franco.
The plot follows Ike (Franco), a young architecture student who, inspired by the few films he has seen, takes a bus into Hollywood. With a tattoo of Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor as they appear in A PLACE IN THE SUN on his shaved head, he makes a strong impression. Soon breaking into film as a designer and eventually a film editor, Vikar (as he is nicknamed) begins a dreamlike journey into the world of films that leads to tragedy and horror. Also starring in the movie are Megan Fox, Seth Rogen, Joey King, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and Jacki Weaver.
The ARIZONA REPUBLIC writes “If you love movies and you’re willing to experiment, it’s an enjoyable trip.”
ZEROVILLE runs 96 minutes and is rated R. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for students and military, and $6 for Capitol Friends.
