Box Office and Ticketing

The Capitol Box Office, located in the lobby of the historic Capitol Theatre, is open Tuesday-Friday from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM and can be reached by telephone at 315-337-6277. The Box Office accepts payments by cash, card, and check. Group discounts are available for Capitol-produced programming. If you have a party of 10 or more, please contact our box office for a 20% discount.

Many Capitol-produced performances offer senior discounts for those 62+, as well as children’s discounts for those 12 or under.

The Capitol has a seating capacity of 1,728. Many performances at the Capitol have reserved seating. Orchestra seating is located on the ground floor, Mezzanine seating is in the loge (the front portion of upstairs seating), and Balcony seating is in the upper section upstairs.

The Concession Stand

The Concession Stand is open for all public performances and serves fresh popcorn, Coca-Cola-brand fountain beverages, Dasani-brand water, and a wide variety of candies. Payments by card and cash are accepted. Our popcorn is made with canola and coconut oils. Popcorn does not contain any peanut products or dairy. Real butter topping is available for popcorn upon request.

Parking

In evenings and on weekends, street parking in Downtown Rome is free and unlimited. There are also several public parking lots in the immediate vicinity. These include parking lots located at:

  • Rome City Hall
  • Corners of Erie Blvd. W. and South George Street
  • Corners of N. George Street and W. Liberty Street
  • 300 W. Dominick Street (Oneida County Social Services Department)
  • “Capitol Steps” parking lot (located directly across from the historic Capitol and accessible on Erie Blvd. W.

Prohibited Items and Behavior

The following are prohibited on Capitol grounds:

  • Firearms or weapons of any kind
  • Balloons or other floating items
  • Smoking and Vaping
  • Outside food and drink
  • Noisemakers
  • Flashlights and laser pointers
  • Unauthorized video and audio recording

Staff members may use their discretion to prohibit any items or behavior that pose a safety hazard to, or diminish the enjoyment of, other guests.

Restroom Facilities

Ladies’ restrooms are located both downstairs and upstairs on house right of the historic Capitol, while Men’s restrooms are located on house left. First-floor restrooms are handicapped accessible.

Security

Security personnel are engaged at many performances at the Capitol. Security personnel may use metal detectors and check bags.
