The Capitol Theatre will present two shows of classic cartoons from Fleischer Studios, featuring such characters as Betty Boop and more.
This second show is a a reminder that many of these shorts, especially those from the “pre-code” era in American film, were created with adult audiences in mind. The evening show at 7:00 pm will offer a generous sampling of short subjects that were often considered “not nice” at the time, though all were released by Paramount Pictures and were designed to be shown at mainstream movie shows. (Parental discretion advised.)
The cartoons, some in black & white and some in color, were made at the famed Fleischer Studios in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. The recently restored cartoons will be seen in digital presentations directly from Fabulous Fleischer Cartoon Restored.
