Rome Arts Hall of Fame

Class of 2024

Leading off a month devoted to highlighting local arts, the Capitol Arts Complex has scheduled induction activities for the Rome Arts Hall of Fame Class of 2024.  The induction ceremony which is open to the public will begin at 4pm, Sunday, May 5th in the newly renovated Capitol Theatre.

Capitol Arts Complex executive director Art Pierce says a performance by Rome Free Academy’s show choir Rhapsody will open the program.

Individual plaques of previously inducted members (which total one hundred and one) will be displayed in the Capitol’s outer lobby.  Each plaque contains a picture of the honoree and a brief biography.

The Rome Arts Hall of Fame began in 2005 with a mission to honor individuals (living or deceased) who have a strong connection to the Rome community and have a significant involvement in the performing, visual or literary arts.  The class of 2024 is the seventeenth group to be named to the Rome Arts Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the May 5th induction ceremony will be available at the door and are priced at $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students.  A family ticket priced at $40.00 will also be available.  Advance sale tickets will be available online (from the Capitol website) and from the Capitol box office beginning April 15, 2024.  Refreshments will be served following the induction ceremony.

Special Capitol presentations in May featuring local Arts continue with the variety show CNY Onstage Live Saturday, May 11th and the performance of Westward, Ho! by the theatre’s Rising Stars youth theatre group on Sunday, May 26.
