Film House Collective: True Romance (1993)

Join us for another installment of the Film House Collective series as we screen True Romance from 1993! This one’s a deep cut starring Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette. True Romance is an early writing credit for Quintin Tarrantino, though he did not direct or act in the film as he has established a habit of doing throughout his career.

True Romance is a seedy 90s crime flick that oozes a slightly unrefined essence of everything Tarrantino would later perfect.
Every day people, down on their luck, making poor decisions worse with a smidge of bad timing and worse luck. It’s impossible to look away from the screen once things get in motion–and things get moving quickly in this winding 2-hour crime spree.

Synopsis: Clarence marries hooker Alabama, steals cocaine from her pimp, and tries to sell it in Hollywood, while the owners of the coke try to reclaim it.
