Capitol Theatre Kicks Off MARCH MOVIE MAD, MAD, MAD MADNESS with Mad Max: Fury Road on March 8

The Rome Capitol Theatre (222 W. Dominick St.) will start its “March Movie Mad, Mad, Mad, Madness” series on Friday, March 8, at 7:00 pm with the 2015 post–apocalyptic action movie, Mad Max: Fury Road.

Mad Max: Fury Road stars Tom Hardy as titular road warrior “Mad Max” Rockatansky, who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), to take down evil cult leader Immortan Joe and his army, leading to a lengthy road battle. Nominated for ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Mad Max: Fury Road has established itself as one of the greatest action films of all time.

Directed by George Miller, the film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays–Byrne, and Nicholas Hoult. The Black and Chrome cut runs 120 minutes.

Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun–Times describes Mad Max: Fury Road as, “A stunningly effective post–apocalyptic fable, a chilling and yet exhilarating day.”

All the movies in the “March Movie Mad, Mad, Mad, Madness” series will be shown at the historic Capitol Theatre on the 40–ft. wide screen. Others in the series include Madagascar (2005) on March 16 and It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) on March 30.
