Kicking off the Thursday Night Series “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll” is a screening of the documentary “Bettie Page Reveals All”, narrated by Bettie Page.

Prior to the movie screening at 7:30, Jack Theakston, former assistant manager of the Capitol Theatre, and son of “The Bettie Pages” publisher Greg Theakston (featured in the film) will be on site to present examples of his father’s work and answer questions about the magazine and work with Bettie Page. Attendees can also view original gelatin silver prints of Bettie Page in the Cinema lobby shot by photographer Bunny Yeager .

Bettie Page was the most famous pinup girl of the post-World War II era, a centerfold on a million locker doors and garage walls. She was also a major influence in the fashion industry and a target of Senator Estes Kefauver’s anti-pornography investigators. During the documentary, the pinup model and cult icon recounts how her free expression overcame government witch-hunts to help launch America’s sexual revolution.

“Bettie Page Reveals All” is rated R. Running time: 102 minutes
