The Capitol Theatre has been chosen as the venue at which the Rome Community Theater will host the 66th TANYS Festival. TANYS, which stands for the Theatre Association of New York State, will be hosting three live theater performance sessions representing the best community theater in New York State on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22, in a festival that will be staged at the Rome Capitol Theatre.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

A theatrical one-act play reimagining the events of the classic children’s fantasy book The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Genesis by Don Nigro
Presented by Aspie Works, Shortsville, NY
Everyone knows the story of Adam and Eve – but do they? Eve gets to tell her side of the story in Aspie Works’ production of Don Nigro’s solo play Genesis. Eve recounts meeting Adam, facing the serpent, eating the forbidden fruit and the experience of life after Eden.
A Family Affair by Albi Gorn
Presented by GoJo Clan Productions, Hastings on Hudson, NY
Clair brings Jon back to her family home to meet her parents and announce their engagement. But he’s barely in the door when the skeletons come tumbling out of the closet.
The performances will be followed by the TANYS Annual Meeting.
The purchase of one ticket for this performance session allows you admission to all three shows in this performance session.
Doors Open at 1:00 pm with the shows beginning at 1:45 pm.
